From October 1st to December 17th, the Government of Mazatlán headed by the Mayor, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, through the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte directed by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, will present the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2021, a large artistic program of more than 40 activities with which citizens will once again enjoy live events, under strict prevention, health and healthy distance measures.

Music, ballet, theater, dance, literature, fine arts, cinema, singing and more, will reach spaces such as the Ángela Peralta Theater, Casa Haas, Centro Historico, public libraries and different towns and commisaries. All this was announced in a press conference led by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, Director of Cultura, together with maestra Zoila Fernández, Artistic Director, Irving Campos Director of Logistics and Protocol, and Marco Antonio Corona, Director of the Municipal Center of Arts.

The great events of the festival begin on October 1st with the Function ““El despertar de las artes” (the awakening of the arts” under the stellar presentation of the Mazatlán Ballet Company under the direction of maestro Guillermo Carrillo. Adding to the great events of the month of October are the opera “Elixir de Amor”; the exhibition “Uniting borders”; the concert “Amorcito Corazón, a tribute to the great idol of Mexico”; in addition to the awaited Festival de Teatro Escena Mazatlán 2021 (Escena Mazatlan theater festival) that will take place from October 04th to the 8th.

The programming for the month of November will begin with the traditional celebration of the Day of the Dead “Metamorphosis, Myths and Legends”, which will take place on the 2nd of this month. “Painting that Moves” by Compañía Delfos; “10th Anniversary Gala” of the Mazatlán Ballet Company; “Concert ballad and tango” by Esteban Baltazar; “Gala, dinner and auction” by the Uniendo Fronteras Foundation; and the dance show ““Que me entierren con la banda” Let them bury me with the band) by the Folklore Company will be among the major events in November.

The month of December brings together the most anticipated shows by Mazatlan such as “The Nutcracker”, “On the lights” and the traditional “Christmas Gala”.

Nourishing the Festival’s billboard in its 2021 edition, the programs “Literary Thursdays” and “Sábados de syndicaturas” were integrated, completely free events that will take place in public spaces and that will reach different towns such as Siqueiros, El Roble, Villa Unión, La Amapa, El Quelite, Habal, Walamo, La Noria, El Recodo, La Isla de la Piedra and Puerta de Canoa

During the presentation of the Festival, for the artistic part, the Delfos Company, the Mazatlán Ballet Company, pianist Juan Pablo García and singer Sara Holcombe gave a small sample of the great talent and quality shows that are expected within the program.

The Festival Cultural Mazatlán has become the most important artistic forum in the Port, due to its conjunction of events and shows of high level and quality that promote each and every one of the fine arts, and that distinguishes Mazatlán among the main cultural destinations of the Northwest of the country.
