The honorable recognition granted by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán was presented last Sunday night, December 17th, at the Ángela Peralta Theater.
The honored artist received the recognition from the General Director of CULTURA, Raúl Rico González, at the end of the last of three functions of the Christmas Gala in which students of the honored teacher received loud applause for her outstanding performance.
During the ceremony, Raúl Rico gave an emotional speech and in it he spoke about the thirtieth anniversary of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán and presented maestra Zoila Fernández with recognition for 25 years of work and teaching at the Municipal School of Classical Ballet of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán.
“In 30 years of festival there have been many achievements, the most important thing is what they have on stage, a first-class orchestra, two formidable choirs, dancers, soloists from all over the (Mexican) Republic who came from this school and above all the heart of all of you who have motivated them, who have allowed us to continue together,” emphasized the General Director of CULTURA.
“There is also another anniversary, 25 years, since a woman arrived, a first-class dancer, choreographer and teacher. Maestra Zoila Fernández says it was easy, but it is a life dedicated to the arts,” he highlighted.
Upon having the recognition in his hands, Mr. Raúl Rico read it to her:
“Maestra, we give you this recognition for 25 years in the path of the arts, as a choreographer and as a teacher at the Municipal School of Classical Ballet. Her career is a clear example of love and dedication.”
