For the fifth consecutive year the Port will be able to enjoy a dance program of the most representative of its kind, this Friday the 21st begins the International Festival of Urban Dance “Funk Paradise”, which with the support of the Government of Mazatlán and the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte, comes to catapult Mazatlán as a city that promotes culture and the arts.

Maestros and choreographers Ángel García and Luis Peña, organizers of this event, together with maestra Zoila Fernández, Artistic Director of Cultura, on behalf of José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, Director of the Institute, offered all the details of the Festival at a press conference.

The venue will be the Parque Martiniano Carvajal, which for three days will host great activities in which master classes, coexistence, workshops and dance competitions stand out.

For people interested in being part of each of the activities, they can still register on the Official Funk Paradise Facebook page, the registration cost is one thousand pesos which includes the right to participate in competitions, coexistence, tourist tours, and master classes, among others.

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the recruitment of participants was reduced and the competitions will be individual, in the following categories, Popping, Breaking, Whacking and Open Styles, of course, there will be great prizes.

For all those who want to attend as observers, the cost of the ticket will be 100 pesos, limited to 50 people, there is still availability.

The diversity of styles, genres and cultures will be one of the triggers of Funk Paradise 2020 as it will receive participants from different states of the Republic, as well as from countries such as the United States and Peru.
