On Friday, November 20, at 8:00 pm at the Angela Peralta Theater, the 19th Generation of the Professional Dance School of Mazatlán will have its graduation function with “Devenir”, a presentation centered on the principle that, the only constant in life is change, movement, becoming.
Starting from the power that art possesses to transform the perception of the world and the strength to overcome obstacles, choreographers Xitlali Piña, Víctor Manuel Ruíz and Mizraim Araujo have prepared an intense dance program that manifests the challenges that dancers of the generation most recent EPDM members have gone through during their formative years and especially during the difficult conditions that the COVID-19 pandemic has imposed on the entire world.
The 10 artists are given the task of capturing on the stage of the Angela Peralta Theater,“Catástrofe”, “¡Que viva la tristeza!” and “Nostromo”, three choreographies that will demand from the dancers all their physical abilities and, above all, be able to express the great variety of emotions and ideas that these works reveal to us about the modern world.
Tickets for “Devenir” have a cost of $200 pesos and can be obtained at the Angela Peralta Theater box office from Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 7 pm, and on Saturdays, from 10 am to 2 pm. More information: 669 982 4446 x103.
