With the participation of artists from Cuba, Colombia, Cameroon, Argentina, Spain, Portugal and Mexico, from November 9 to 15 the third edition of the Güilo Mentiras Storytelling Festival will be held virtually, with a daily schedule at 6: 00 pm.

Recharged and improved, this festival awaits the participation of thousands of Internet users who will listen to the stories, while others will take part in the trainings and workshops that will be given to continue creating artists who make words and their actions fantasy machines among their audience.

The extensive offerings of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2020, that is successfully promoted by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, allows events such as the Güilo Mentiras Storytelling Festival to join this offering to citizens for free and for a wide audience of all ages.

This year, 2020, humanity is going through a pandemic due to the SARS-COV2 virus which has led to a social distancing marked by confinement, the public staying home, the enjoyment of culture passed from an experiential and a face-to-face act to enjoyment in front of the screen.

The platform where this ambitious project will be screened is Cultura TV through the social network Facebook, while some of the guests will be Aldo Méndez from Cuba; Ana Griott, from Spain; Verónica Hinojosa, from Cuba; Rodolfo Castro, from Portugal, Laura Dippolito, from Argentina; Boniface Ofogo, from Cameroon, and Carolina Rueda, from Colombia, among others.

In previous editions, it reached 33 public spaces, schools, auditoriums and public squares where 3 thousand 898 people of different ages attended, making the word, the oral narration and the stories of our community the center of the festival.

José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, General Director of the Instituto de Cultura, indicated that these types of festivals pay directly to the training of the artists in the making and in the coming years they will be the ones who will lead the baton in the new generations.
