The zarzuela will be heard in all its splendor during the presentation of “Ecos de España” with the privileged voices of the Ángela Peralta Choir and guest soloists.

The appointment is this Friday May 26th at 8 pm in Col. Francisco Villa and Saturday May 27th at 6 pm in the community of El Quelite.

Through this presentation of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, the Angela Peralta Choir under the successful direction of maestra Mary Murillo takes up one of the most representative musical genres of Spain and presents some of the most popular zarzuela romances and choruses popular for the enjoyment of the public that will have free access to both shows.

Regarding her upcoming performance at Pancho Villa and at El Quelite, director Mary Murillo expresses:
“For the Choir (Ángela Peralta) it is very important because it allows us to take the work that we normally develop at the Ángela Peralta Theater, which is our home, to other places where there is an audience that has never listened to us and (allows us) to also bring the invitation for all the people who want to be part of the Choir and who know that the doors are open for those who want to learn to sing”.

So these types of events are important to us because people find out about our existence, listen to us and know that they can be part of the Choir, reiterates Mary Murillo.

During “Ecos de España” the voices of the Choir, Baritone Juan Fernando Martínez and mezzo-soprano Ángela Rodríguez, accompanied by Sergio Castellanos on piano, will participate.

Among the pieces that the public will surely enjoy are: El pasacalle de Los Nardos, Pichi y Java de las viudas de Las Leandras; Las seguidillas de la Verbena de la Paloma; el preludio de El Barberillo de Lavapiés; La mazurca de las sombrillas and Los vareadores, canciones de Luisa Fernanda, among others.
