Los Ninos de Sal, a play that will touch the most intimate fibers of the human being, a timeless story about love, loss and hope, is presented on Sunday, October 1st at 7 p.m. at the Ángela Peralta Theater.
With this staging by the Iguana Roja company under the direction of maestro Ramón Gómez Polo, the programming of the “Escena Mazatlán 2023” Theater Festival will close, which takes place from September 25th to October 1st.
Los Hijos de Sal tells the story of a man who lives tormented by his past. Upon returning to his hometown, he must face everything he left behind and make decisions that will move him forward in his life.
In this production by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, Raúl Sánchez Pastrano, Manolo Díaz, Sebastián Sánchez Torres, Fernando Osuna, Margarita García, Silvia Flores Bernal, Alonso Caro and Alejandra Quintanilla perform.
Los Niños de Sal is a play by Mexican playwright, writer, communicator, theater director, teacher, stage researcher, designer, producer, screenwriter and cultural promoter Hernán Galindo (National Playwriting Award from the National Institute of Fine Arts 1994).

Ramón Gómez Polo
He began his theatrical training in 1983, under the tutelage of maestra Carmen Alicia Gastelum. In 1985, he founded the theater group “Unicornio”, alongside Maestro Zula Ricci. In 1992, he was a founding member of the Ángela Peralta Choir, where he studied singing (Opera), for a period of eight years, with the renowned pianist and maestro Antonio González. In 1995, he formed the Independent Actors Group.
His studies in direction and acting were carried out with the teacher and director Raúl Quintanilla. He has directed and performed more than 25 plays, as well as operatic shows, opera, zarzuela and musical comedy.
He has participated as an actor in the unitary programs Lo que callamos las mujeres, produced by Televisión Azteca; in the soap opera Huracán, produced by Televisa and in the films Los clovens de Cristo, Pacífico Norte and CLAY. He was in charge of the artistic direction of the Floral Games of Carnaval Mazatlán 2005. In 2006, with his company he was the winner of the “Theaters for the country’s theater community” a program organized by CONACULTA-FONCA-IMSS.
Hernan Galindo
Originally from Monterrey, Playwright, theater director, producer and cultural promoter. Graduate in Communication Sciences from the Regiomontana University; Lic. in Dramatic Art UANL. Studies in English and theater at UCLA (Los Angeles, California). Current head of Performing Arts at the University of Monterrey. Member of the National System of Artistic Creators of CONACULTA 2009/12. Forty-three years in the theater environment. Director of Casa Musa AC.
Civic Merit Medal / UANL Arts Award 2017. On three occasions he has obtained the UANL National Playwriting Award (Ansia de Duraznos 1989, Las Bestias escondidas 1990, La Gente de la lluvia 2004). Twice the National Theater Award from the National Institute of Fine Arts (Los Niños de sal 1994, Círculos en el jardín 2004); Conarte Publication Award. He has directed more than one hundred stagings of universal authors, operas, musicals and multidisciplinary shows. He has more than a hundred plays written between short plays and large-format plays. His plays have been performed in various places around the country, as well as in New York, San Diego, Miami, Argentina and Rome.
