It will be in the Vidalia Arte gallery located on the fourth floor of the Sharp Hospital, where this cultural space will open; Works by Sinaloan artists will be exhibited: Ana Merino, Cecilia Sánchez Duarte, Aurora Acosta, Karla Holler, Guadalupe Aguilar and Brenda Virginia Castro. The works will be visible to patients and the public until June 9th.

Abril Márquez, Artistic Director of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán welcomed and thanked Instituto Vidalia for the initiative of opening new spaces for the projection of the arts.

At the press conference held at Casa Haas, it was reported that people who come for a consultation at the institution will be received with the exhibition in a different environment, full of life, color, and with an encouraging perspective, since it has been proven that art helps to improve people’s health and mental state.

At the conference, CULTURA was thanked for its support for the development of this project. The doctors were present: Efrén Peraza, Didilia Bejarano, Engineer Rodrigo Rodríguez, Cultural Manager Fernando Alarriba and fine artist Guadalupe Aguilar.

“Our idea of Vidalia Arte is an initiative as a group to encourage and contribute to the art and culture of Mazatlan, art helps us understand and know ourselves as human beings and society, with this medium many people communicate, and for us it is very gratifying”, said the director of the Vidalia Institute, Efrén Peraza.

He added that this project is a reflection that they want to form a group that supports the arts, and the main thing is to open spaces for the different artists that exist in the port and in Sinaloa.

Dr. Didilia Bejarano emphasized the interest of Instituto Vidalia in creating a harmonious environment and an environment of well-being so that the patient or their family can have a pleasant cultural experience regardless of whether the reason for the visit is health or a serious illness.

He considered that a waiting room in a hospital is a good place to share art because the people who attend are generally anguished, waiting, and if health is treated as an integral concept, -physical, emotional and spiritual- the people seeing a painting will have a different experience than what we are used to.

Fernando Alarriba, Cultural Manager, indicated that the first exhibition is called “In the beginning…” and the works will reflect the daily lives of the artists and will tell different stories with a message of hope.
