The student of the Mazatlán Ballet School asks for support for her stay in Florence, Italy

Ana Lucía González Noriega is 14 years old, is a student at the Mazatlán Municipal School of Classical Ballet and was admitted by the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, one of the most important and prestigious in the world, to carry out a summer course in Florence, Italy.

To take the intensive course, Ana Lucía will have to stay in Europe from July 17th to 28th, two weeks of arduous training with teachers who are among the best in the world, for this reason her family and friends ask for the support of society to sponsor the study trip expenses.

At a press conference held this Wednesday at Casa Haas, the young woman accompanied by her mother Erika Noriega Ríos and Anny Ruiz, representing the AMPI Women’s Committee and its leader Pedro Ismael Tirado, called on Mazatlan society to support the journey of Ana Lucía who dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

The first fundraising activity will be a breakfast at Restaurant Gaia Bistro, on Saturday, May 27th; In addition, the company Andes Desarrollos is providing financial support and the AMPI will carry out activities to sponsor the trip.

Before the media, Ana Lucía expressed her desire to dedicate herself to ballet professionally.

“That is why I am looking for more alternatives to continue studying and improving and that is why I am looking for support. I have been studying ballet since I was three years old, I have gone to summer courses in Guadalajara, and this year I auditioned in Mexico City, I took classes with several international schools, but for me the most important was the Bolshoi and since the course is in Europe, we need support to be able to fulfill this dream that is so important to me”, said the young promise of ballet.

Present at the conference, the General Director of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán,, Raúl Rico González, expressed that cases like Ana Lucía’s must be supported.

“They are unique and special because they are students with interests in crossing borders and measuring themselves with the greats of dance in this case.”

Rico González stressed that although Ana Lucía does not receive institutional support to participate in this summer course, her case strengthens the student mobility program promoted by the Instituto de Cultura.

The official recalled that contemporary dance students from Israel recently took classes at the Mazatlán Professional Dance School and an agreement was signed with the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance to carry out an educational and artistic residency at the Municipal Arts Center. ; The agreement establishes that EPDM students can also travel to receive classes in Israel.

Anny Ruiz called on society to support Ana Lucía, the 14-year-old girl who has been studying classical ballet since she was 3 years old and wants to become a benchmark in classical ballet.

She realized that ballet has become a passion, she has the talent and the discipline and we need the support of society because I see Ana Lucía as a representative of the classical ballet of our port, ”she said.

Erika Noriega Ríos, mother of the new dancer, commented that although the course will be in a distant location, they are convinced that it is possible for Ana Lucía to fulfill her desire.

It’s something worthwhile, something she started as a hobby but has become an imminent vocation, she pointed out.
